Costa del Sol was built in three phases each with it's own distinctive models but the phases interleave with each other for a balanced whole. Five streets, Costa del Sol Boulevard, and Estepona, Adra, Torremolinos and Adra Avenues connect with 28 clusters of homes, each with distinctive names reminiscent of Spain's Costa del Sol. Each cluster has it's own budget decided upon by the individual cluster residents who elect a representative to the Master Association, democracy at it's best!
While Costa del Sol has full on-site management by an outside company, the elected Board of Directors works closely with them supervising the details. The monthly maintenance fees may seem high, at first glance, but they encompass everything and close analysis shows that they are in fact, a bargain compared with other local areas. Included is all exterior maintenance - roofs, walls, painting etc. and even screen repairs, (the latter not in all clusters), complete structural insurance including flood, landscaping, a state of the art computerized security system, use of the community pool, tennis courts, in-line roller rink and kiddie playground, a recently renovated clubhouse, cable TV, water and sewer, trash removal, roads and streetlights - a totally comprehensive package. While the golf course, driving range and putting green are owned by a separate company, and are not maintained by Costa del Sol, residents usually have discounts on annual memberships.
Built by a private builder between 1974 and 1977, these original
models offer space, loads of closets and large amounts of extra parking
all set amid luxurious greenery with waterfalls and coral rock fountains.
There are eight basically different models as follows: (Cited square footage

The
largest group, built by Lennar between 1984 and 1990. The homes feature
light, airy rooms and they have always been "hot" sellers, so much so,
that Lennar has repeated these floor plans in Doral Park many times over.
They also now appear in Doral Isles under new names and new elevations.
Needless to say, those cost many thousands of dollars more and often do
not have the beautiful golf and lake locations to be found in Costa del
Sol. There are three models: (Cited square footage is taken from the Tax
Rolls of Dade County and is for a basic, not enlarged home).
